award_blog_thumbnail.jpgWe’re proud to announce that the site Aptera’s web team built for Redpack Tomatoes has been awarded top prize for 2015’s Sitefinity Website of the Year Award in the Food & Beverages category. Progress, a global software company, revealed the winners of this year’s awards earlier today. This marks the second year in a row that Aptera has won a Website of the Year award.

The competition is hosted annually by Telerik, a subsidiary of Progress and the software company behind the Sitefinity Content Management System (CMS). Each year, representatives from the company create a shortlist of candidates from among all the websites built using their platform, nominating 3 sites for each of 18 categories based on:

  • Creativity
  • Design
  • User Experience
  • Functionality
  • Overall Presentation

Then the nominees for each category are announced and voting commences. This year, nearly 8,000 people participated in the public voting.

Svetozar Georgiev, Senior Vice President of Application Platforms with Progress, said of the winners, “While the Sitefinity platform is trusted and used by thousands of customers worldwide to create and optimize customer experiences across digital channels, these awards honor the progressive companies that are truly setting the pace for others.”

The award-winning website built by Aptera for Redpack Tomatoes features gorgeous layouts with images guaranteed to give you a hankering for all kinds of foods made with Redpack products, and of course you can get to some recipes with just a few clicks of the mouse or swipes of the finger.

We know our web design and development team has put a lot of work into this project, and they were proud of it even before the award. But it’s still great to see them receiving some major recognition.

Asked for his response to the announcement, web designer Joe Beste said, "Redpack was a graphic designer's dream client. They had a strong vision of how they wanted this new website to look, and they gave us plenty of direction. They even brought a mood board to the meeting to help convey to us the exact look and feel they were after. This was a team effort on both ends and it was a real pleasure working alongside the Redpack people throughout process."

Sitefinity expert Jonathan Read had this to say: “Tomatoes are yummy.” (Jonathan’s a little different.)

Fantastic work guys!
